MUÑOZ FINISHES FOURTH; TORQUE FINISHES FIFTH IN CHICAGO
SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Sebastián Muñoz shot a final-round 2-over 73 to finish fourth on the individual points leaderboard at LIV Golf Chicago.
Muñoz was the 36-hole leader by three shots, but a couple of early bogeys left him scrambling to stay with the leaders. After three birdies to finish his front nine, he suffered three bogeys on the back nine.
Muñoz was Torque GC’s top performer at Chicago, as the team finished fifth on the team points leaderboard. Four-time winners this season, Torque is now third in the points standings and has a chance to secure a first-round bye for the Miami Team Championship with a good result in the regular-season finale in Jeddah.
Joaquin Niemann’s team also has a chance to finish the season with the top overall seed, as the team is just 17 points behind league-leading 4Aces GC.
Muñoz finished fourth place in points for the third time in his last six LIV Golf starts. He also has a second-place finish in Orlando and is now ninth in points for the season.
Teammate Mito Pereira finished in 34th in Chicago and is now eighth place in points. He still has a mathematical opportunity to finish third in the season-long individual standings.
Captain Joaquin Niemann shot a final-round 68 to finish 19th in points at 6 under.
David Puig shot a final-round 73 to finish 36th in the points leaderboard at 2 under.
